Finally, plush animals may be used to alleviate post-surgical discomfort in youngsters. In a study of paediatric patients aged 1 to 7, Ullán et al. (2014) offered a rabbit plush animal disguised as a doctor with instructions for parents to utilise the stuffed animal to play with their kid following surgery. After the operation, they also observed the children's signs of suffering, such as their facial expressions or weeping. When it comes to discomfort, children who got instructions to play with stuffed animals showed less pain than those who didn't, according to Ullán et al. (2014) findings. Playing with stuffed animals may have distracted the youngsters from their discomfort, according to the researchers, or it may have boosted their mood, which in turn may have influenced their perception of pain.
