For the third year running, Rochdale-based online toy retailer, Maqio Toys has been named one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in the region.

Maqio ranked 40th in this year’s North West Fastest 50 Awards due to a growth of 32.42% in its turnover. The list of fastest-growing companies is compiled by Ward Hadaway in association with the Greater Manchester Chamber Of Commerce. 

Director of Maqio, Edmund Lim, says: “To be included in this list for the third time is a testament to the hard work and dedication our team has put in. We are so proud of our increasingly loyal customer base that has fuelled our growth.”

The list ranks 50 best-performing privately-owned companies which have consistently increased turnover over the past three financial years, whilst remaining profitable.

With such impressive growth, Maqio has big plans and is excited for the future of the brand, planning to invest in the business and staff through reorganising and fostering a productive workforce. This will ensure Maqio keeps its momentum and reach its goal to be a “One stop shop for all things kids.” 

This growth within Maqio has allowed the company to increase its staff number and implement an investment plan to ensure the size of the company keeps up with the rise in financial growth. 

Edmund continues: “Over the next year Maqio is planning to increase the categories and the types of products we sell. Meaning we'll be able to offer everything to keep kids across the country happy.” 

With continued expansion, Maqio has a set of targets they are expecting to hit in 2023, including increasing the product range which includes Maqios own brand, setting up more channels, marketplace and websites to sell on, and reviewing and improving policies to boost staff morale and efficiency as the company continues to grow.

Based on financial data filed with Companies House, the list ranks the fifty best performing privately-owned companies which have consistently increased turnover whilst remaining profitable. Maqio Toys is continuing to grow by investing in their teams and infrastructure, a full redesign of the website with a focus to improve customers shopping experience and working closely with key suppliers.
