Walt Disney Pictures released Coco, a 2017 American computer-animated fantasy film developed by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by the studio. It is directed by Lee Unkrich and co-directed by Adrian Molina, and it is based on an original concept by Lee Unkrich. Among the voice actors in the film are Anthony Gonzalez, Gael Garca Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alanna Ubach, Renée Victor, Ana Ofelia Murgua, and Edward James Olmos, among others. The story revolves around a 12-year-old boy named Miguel, who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the assistance of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather in order to return him to his family among the living and to overturn his family's ban on music, which was instituted by his grandfather.
The Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico served as inspiration for the Coco idea. The screenplay for the film was written by Molina and Matthew Aldrich, based on a story by Unkrich, Jason Katz, Aldrich, and Molina, and directed by Molina. Animator Lee Unkrich and members of the film's team travelled to Mexico to do research for the project, which started in 2016. The film's soundtrack was created by Michael Giacchino, who had previously worked on several Pixar animated blockbusters. Coco, which is expected to cost between $175 and 225 million dollars, is the first film with a nine-figure budget to contain an all Latino primary cast.Product Specifications
