Rocket's ready to blast into orbit with the Flying Heroes action figure! Simply attach the plucky Guardian to the base unit and rip the cord. With wings attached to his arms, Rocket will blast away in a sweeping helicopter like motion, courageously flying through the air!
A genetically-modified raccoon bounty hunter, mercenary, and expert in weapons and battle tactics, as well as a master of both. Gunn worked with real raccoons to get the right feel for the character and to make sure it was the right thing to do "No, Bugs Bunny is not there, but a real animal that looks like it has been mutilated. There isn't anyone else in the universe like him. These guys made him to be a mean-ass fighting machine." Another thing that Gunn did was make the character look like him, too. Cooper said that when he talked about Rocket and the other Guardians, he said: "I think Rocket is interesting. Joe Pesci in Goodfellas is the kind of person he is." When the movie was being filmed, Cooper voiced Rocket, while Sean Gunn (James' younger brother) was in the role. James Gunn said that for the role of Rocket, Cooper's physical movements, such as facial expressions and hand movements, were recorded as possible references for the animators. Sean Gunn's acting is used a lot in the movie. "We kind of stumbled" into the process of Sean performing on set because they didn't know how they were going to make that character. The same process was used for all the other appearances of Rocket. It was hard to find a voice for Rocket, and James Gunn was looking for someone who could do both. Before he cast Cooper, Gunn said it was hard to find someone who could do both "Having fast-talking speech patterns like Rocket's can be funny, but also because he is very funny. It has the same heart as Rocket. Because there are a lot of dramatic scenes with Rocket, so this is why."
