Take a walk on the wild side with the Playmobil City Life Tiger Family. These sanctuary bound tigers love each others' company, and relaxing in the sun. They go great with the Large City Zoo playset (sold separately), too!

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the biggest extant cat species and a member of the genus Panthera. It is the most dangerous of the big cats. It is most easily identified by its black vertical stripes on orange fur with a white underbelly on the upper portion of its body. It is an apex predator that mostly preys on ungulates, such as deer and wild boar, as well as other small mammals. It is territorial and typically solitary, but it is also a social predator, requiring huge continuous regions of habitat to meet its nutritional and raising needs, as well as to assist its breeding and rearing of progeny. Tiger cubs spend their first two years with their mother, after which they grow independent and leave their mother's home range to create their own territory.

Tiger ranged widely from the Eastern Anatolia Region in the west to the Amur River basin in the east, and in the south it ranged from the foothills of the Himalayas to Bali in the Sunda Islands. It was first scientifically described in 1758, and it once covered a large area from the Eastern Anatolia Region to the Amur River basin. For much of the twentieth century, tiger populations have been decimated, with populations now extinct in most of Western and Central Asia, the Indonesian islands of Java & Bali, as well as significant portions of Southeast and South Asia, as well as in China. The tiger's current range is fragmented, spanning from temperate forests in Siberia to subtropical and tropical forests on the Indian subcontinent, Indochina, and Sumatra.
