All of the characters are buildable figurines that come in three pieces: the feet, the middle body, and the upper body. Create your own Shopkins by assembling the characters or by mixing and matching the components.
Small, collectible toys, Shopkins are made by Moose Toy and are available in a variety of colours and designs. Each plastic figurine is based on a common grocery store item and has a distinguishable face and a distinct name. They are also available in a variety of unusual finishes like as transparent, sparkly, and squishy. The collectible toys (which are classified as common, uncommon, ultra-rare, special edition, limited edition, and exclusive) have also extended into lines of apparel, trading cards, and other associated items, in addition to the toys themselves.
The toy line first debuted in 2014. As of 2021, there will be a total of fifteen seasons of the dolls. There are additional seasons-themed series, such as Halloween, Easter, and Christmas, that are available. There have also been spin-offs, the most recent of which is the continuing "Kindi Kids" line of dolls, which was introduced in August of this year.
