The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been growing steadily since the last 10 years and has now become one of the most loved and well-known movie series in the world. Now that the third phase of MCU has come to an end with the epic Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios are leaving nothing to chance in making its next phase just as successful. Many upcoming Marvel movies and television series were unveiled and the much-speculated Eternals were also part of the conference at the San Diego Comic-Con

The Eternals will make their debut in the MCU and on the big screen. Directed by Chloe Zhao and has an all-star cast with Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, and Salma Hayek. Based on the Marvel comic books of the same name, The Eternals has an extensive history created by Jack Kirby.

The movie also functions as a turning point for the wider franchise due to its timeline; MCU movies are typically set in the modern era, but the new film takes place over 7,000 years. Along with these other aspects of Eternals, there are a lot of excitement and mystery surrounding the film's main villains called the Deviants. According to the comics, they are the evil counterparts to the Eternals, with both created by the Celestials. The Eternals movie will find the superheroes reuniting to protect the world from the Deviants. Not much information has been revealed villains from the film, however some LEGO toys do offer some clues to the character design. The Eternals were considered immortal as they were longer living while Deviants were genetically unstable and monstrous beings.

The Eternals carried out experiments on earth over the years and these resulted in the Eternals supernatural powers like flight, superhuman strength, teleportation, energy blasts from their hands and eyes, telekinesis, force field generation but decided to use their powers to protect the earth against the evil-entities like deviants.

Other iconic Marvel characters like members of the Avengers, Asgardians, Kree, Skrulls have also crossed paths with Eternals in the comics as they moved to other planets to prevent destruction on Earth. Did you know the villain of the Avengers’ series, Thanos, was also an eternal from the planet Titan?

Marvel’s Eternals is directed by Chloé Zhao and stars Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 5 2021
