The live action Barbie movie is releasing on the 21st of July, and being the first ever live action adaptation of Barbie, its setting up to be one of the most unique but exciting films of the year. Writing the film is Greta Gerwig along with her partner,  Noah Baumbach. She is also directing the film, and having directed other great films like Little Woman and Lady Bird, we can guarantee she’ll bring her own unique spin to the Barbie world.

So who will be playing the Barbie girl living in a Barbie world? Margot Robbie will star as Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling as Ken, both incredibly talented actors who star in some great movies. Everyone must know who Margot Robbie is by now, best known for her role as Harley Quinn in the Birds Of Pray and Suicide Squad films, she has became incredibly popular in recent years. And Ryan Gosling as Ken, who is known for his range in roles from The Notebook to Blade Runner 2049. They both seem like the perfect casting choice and with some more actors and their roles still to be revealed, the excitement is building for Barbie's latest adventure.

We don't know much about the story, but it will apparently follow Barbie “being expelled from Barbie land for being a less than perfect-looking doll” and going to “the human world to find true happiness”.
